I love Glasgow, it's a great place to live and has so much to offer, I can't imagine living anywhere else. Located in the west of Scotland on the River Clyde, Glasgow is the biggest Scottish city, and is right at the heart of one of the UK’s principal metropolitan areas. With a population of 1.2 million in the city and surrounding area, the city is a major centre for public administration, financial services, and tourism-related sectors, with plenty of jobs in Glasgow on offer. Glasgow is rated as the best UK shopping centre outside of London's West End. Glasgow is the fourth largest city in the UK, the largest retail centre outside London (Experian Retail Ranking 2007) and has the largest public transport network outside London. It was also voted third best business centre in Europe by Fortune Magazine, and the best tourist location in the UK by Condé Nast in 2006. Photo: euphbass (Flickr)

Last weeks huge Euro Lottery jackpot reminds me of last time there was a huge one and someone in Briton on it. Because me and my boyfriend were away that week when the draw was on – we couldn’t check our ticket. We were in Spain so we saw all the English papers out there saying that the ticket was bought in England – but we didn’t have ours with us. We had bought it before we had flown out to Spain. So most of our holiday we both were dreaming of what we would buy! My boyfriend is normally our lottery checker but he couldn’t remember the numbers. So as far as we were concerned we could have won! When we did eventually get home and find out we hadn’t won it was such a disappointment! We ended up having double the amount of holiday blues! I know it was wishful thinking but it was fun whilst it lasted!!
There is absolutely no doubt that one of the greatest developments for film in this decade is 3D technology. The amazing advancements made by animation studios like Pixar are now matched with the engaging, detail-rich experience of 3D technology.

As well as my CGI and animation training I will be taking an online course of maya tutorials so that I can equip myself with the skills that will enable me to make the absolute most of this pioneering 3D technology in all the work I do in the future.

With 3D technology being brought into the home with 3D TVs and 3D offers on provider services, football games played in 3D in pubs and clubs, and of course, numerous 3D films in the cinema, now is the time to take advantage of the resources out there to fully develop and utilise such groundbreaking technology.
